The GED test may be taken by any adult over 18 who is not currently enrolled in a high school program. Individuals between 16 and 18 may take the test series but must present written documentation that includes the following:
Individuals under 16 years of age cannot take the GED test series and must be enrolled in some type of approved school program (Alaska Statute).
Tests are administered on the computer, though they are not online. The GED can be taken at an official GED testing center. (KBC is an official testing site.) Only practice tests are available online.
All test materials will be provided for you. You may not use any reference materials in the test room except those provided by the examiner. You may not start a test and finish it at a later date. If you need to leave the test room before the test is completed, that test will be invalid and you will need to start again with another test version. You may take the test subjects in any order.
Contact Michelle at (907) 235-1602 mid-August through April to enroll in classes.
After passing all your official GED exams, you will receive your diploma in the mail.
Each May, KBC holds a commencement ceremony to recognize students who have earned degrees and other certificates or completed programs on campus. If you would like to participate in this graduation ceremony, please let us know. You will receive invitations to send to family and friends to attend the ceremony and the reception afterwards.
