Prerequisites

Undergraduate - UAA level PRT A140 Minimum grade of C

Course Description

Examines continuous control strategies and final control elements, discrete-type alarm, annunciator, and shutdown systems utilized for process control. Reviews computerized control systems. Analyzes instrument calibration and troubleshooting procedures. Utilizes a variety of instrument projects to increase practical knowledge through troubleshooting, repair, instrument calibration and functional check-out (FCO) procedures.

Registration Restrictions: Admission to the Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Process Instrumentation or Associate of Applied Science in Process Technology

Additional Information

Class is taught in a blended format. Class lecture materials, assignments, and class video recordings will be posted and available for students on Blackboard. Instrumentation lab projects (as listed in the class syllabus) are required, and can only be accomplished on-site and attending in-person at the Kenai River Campus in Soldotna. Lab projects will require participating in two or more of the lab project days.
