Hands-on Soil Health

On Thursday, July 26, at 1:00 PM, Kachemak Bay Campus in Homer will offer a FREE class in garden maintenance.
Join Monica Kopp and Victoria Monsaint-Queeney of Homer Soil & Water to get down and dirty while learning key soil health principles. We'll run tests to see how to tell if soil is healthy or not, and learn what management practices can improve your garden soil. We'll also get up close and personal with beneficial soil organisms and learn about the soil food web. Bring a small sample of your own soil to test how healthy it is!
Class begins in Bayview Hall room 102 and moves to the KBC high tunnel across the parking lot. Offered in partnership with Homer Soil and Water Conservation District. For more information call (907) 235-1674.
