Shows the extra items which could be stored outside of an already crowded domain, extra G.I. Cot, galvanized wash (also bath) tub, carnation milk box atop porch roof that served as the freezer. At this time Maxine applied for and was granted the position of postmaster, Soldotna, Alaska with a salary of $16.00 a month. Mail was received via air to Kenai weekly patrons were no more than twenty. The whole operation was housed inside the cabin in two blazo boxes. Postal patrons were always invited in.
