Longmere Lake, Sterling late 1950's

Pictured here are swimmers Jackie Soberg and Mary Mullen floating in an inner tube on Longmere Lake. This was a popular spot for summer recreation. Many homestead children first bathed, then swam in the lake. Swimming was learned from parents. July water temperature could be 72 degrees.
