The Ski Hill (hence the name of the road). This was a brain child of the fine Norwegian born, road superintendent, Ralph Soberg. He, and part of his crew, some ski enthusiasts including Stan Mclane & Pat McElroy using Alaska Highway Department equipment cleared the hill. They installed a rope tow, provided lighting for night skiing, and built a warm-up hut. These men also became the instructors much to the delight of parents. An association providing the maintenance of this project & the public swimming area at Sports Lake was called the Sports Lake Recreational Association.
