Cooper Landing bridge earthquake damage, Cooper Landing 1964

This pictures the earthquake-destroyed bridge over the Kenai River as it drops out of Kenai Lake in Cooper Landing. To the left is the temporary pontoon bridge installed by the U.S Army. Traffic from the Kenai Peninsula to Anchorage was halted while temporary repairs were made on over a hundred bridges and culverts. Such bridge work continued for about four years.
