Vern Coumbe and Marcus Bodnar's homestead cabin, Soldotna 1950

The Marcus Bodnar homestead (small in acreage) was near the Kenai Spur Highway, and present site of Big Eddy Road. Marcus worked with his brother Alex in constructing their respective cabins. They later moved to Anchorage to seek employment and sold their property to Leo Oberts. Pictured is Vern Coumbe, who occupied this cabin very briefly with his wife, Misty, while they were seeking homestead possibilities.
