Nordic Ski Club race, Soldotna 1960's
Cross country ski races such as this took place between Soldotna and Kenai and involved perhaps 60-80 participants. The event was organized by the Nordic Ski Club. Movers in the club were Dick Mommsen, Bill and Charlotte Ischi (from Switzerland) and Freddie Billingslea. The event ended with a potluck, and in Soldotna the dinner was enjoyed in Bill Ischi's Volkswagen garage, which was as spotless as any eating place.
