Potato inspection with Jack Farnsworth, borough mayor Harold Pomeroy, and Harold Jackson, Soldotna late 1950's

These people are inspecting potatoes. Potatoes grew very well in new soil. Climate was good, no diseases or pests. Fertilizer was used. Harvest was usually after the first real frost. They would continue to grow if only slightly touched by a low temperature in August. From left to right, Jack Farnsworth, third from left is Harold Pomeroy, borough mayor, and Harold Jackson far right.
