Pictured at the top of the Soldotna ski hill are George Ryden (blurred), Harold Ryden (2nd place men's division.) Bob Hoedel (barely in view) Kachemak ski club, Wayne Treat and Pat McElroy. Boy in front and Hoedel were from Homer. These adults were involved in downhill races. This hill (now overgrown) had a rope tow and was lighted at night, and was constructed by the Sportmans Association which sponsored the activities. The idea behind its construction was the brainstorming of Ralph Soberg.
