Well driller at Virgil Dahler's house, Sterling late 1950's

Virgil hand dug his first water well, succeeded at 30 feet. This slide shows a well drilling rig (probably belonging to Jess Shelman, the first to have a rig in the area), providing a more reliable source of water.
