Kenai School, Kenai mid 1950's

Kenai has had many schools, this shows the first school built of concrete. The previous Territorial School had been a victim of fire. This school opened with four rooms and apartments for staff, and was soon bursting at the seams with the influx of homesteaders settling with their young families.
