Big K Grocery was stablished in the mid-1960s by Madge & Zell Wright, who had been grocers in Anchorage at the corner of 15th Avenue and H Street. The store later moved to a new location and was managed by their son, Kearlee Wright. The Wrights employed ambitious young people whenever possible. Kearlee was city mayor in 1965-1966 and a bishop in the local Mormon Church. In 2000, this building is occupied by Randy's Ramada.
