Aerial view of Faa homesite in Soldotna, 1955

Picture shows one of the first clearings of native growth. Clearing was done by horseman Joe Faa, who raised and sold hay. The two-lane road is the Kenai Spur Highway and Corral Street intersection. The buildings are Soldotna's first post office, the Faa home and a cluster of out-buildings (including an old Quonset hut, once lived in briefly by Howard and Maxine Lee).
