Pictured is the Soldotna Medical Clinic, the upper level of which housed doctors Paul Isaak and Elmer Gaede. The lower level housed the first Soldotna Library. Volumes were all donations, and the facility was staffed by volunteers. The library board included Katherine Parker, Joyce Carver and Betty Smith. Also occupying the lower level was Calvin M. Fair, DDS, the first full-time dentist in the central Kenai Peninsula. From Indiana, he had been introduced to Alaska via the U.S. Army at Whittier.
