Pictured are agricultural agents from the USDA experimental farms in Palmer, Alaska. As homesteaders opened land on the Kenai Peninsula, Palmer became interested in how and if their seed production would fare on the Central Peninsula. They planted test plots on the Lancashire, Mullen, and Robinson homesteads to test field crops. Among the agents from Palmer were Curtis Dearborn and Dr. Washburn.
