John Canon, Watchman's cabin, Kasilof River

John "Frenchy" Canon built a cabin on Tustumena Lake around 1930. He was a friend of Andrew Berg and Tom Odale. Christmas day 1933 on the lake at Tom's cabin was -18 degrees Fahrenheit. Frenchy lived in the Watchman's Cabin at one time. Seen here are two worked logs supporting the roof of the small porch. A type of gutter slants toward a wooden rain barrel, and four narrow poles suggest a fence.
