Ames family, Soldotna 1953

Warren, Phil, Brad, Kathy, Betty holding Brannon grouped in front of the Chell Bear home in Soldotna. Phil at the time was a member of the territorial police. Betty provided a great amount of food for her family from her gardens & always managed some flowers - as evidenced on this picture. She became a fine local artist in both brush, clay, & fabric. Their son, Warren, also a notable artist, lost his life though barely twenty, in a canoe accident on the Kenai River. Kathy is also an artist. This family still lives in various locations in Alaska.
