Beginning Tuesday, October 14, this six-session course will meet weekly, 5:30 - 8:00 PM. This course, by Asia Freeman, will provide an overview of contemporary landscape painting, technical considerations, critique and aesthetics, with a focus on painting from observation. Beginning Friday, November 7 at 5:00 PM, Anna Borland Ivy will teach Deckhand Skills at Kachemak Bay Campus. This class takes place Friday evening until 8:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, November 8 & 9, from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Learn practical job skills for becoming a deckhand on any vessel in one weekend at Kachemak Bay Campus in Homer. Includes safety, survival skills, line handling, knots, gear, basic navigation, crew roles, helm, wheelhouse expectations, and more. Scholarships are available through the Homer Marine Trades Association for qualifying individuals. Age limit, 16 years and up, 15 years allowed with special permission from instructor. On Friday, November 14, beginning at 5:30 PM, professional photographer Taz Tally will teach a two-day class on how to capture high-quality, memorable images with your smartphone. Start with a Friday evening skills class, followed by an on-foot field trip the next day starting at Kachemak Bay Campus at 9:00 AM.
