Alaska State Championship sled dog races, Soldotna 1964
The Alaska State Championship sled dog races took place in Soldotna for some years. The starting point seen here was the north end of the Binkley airstrip which paralleled the Sterling Highway. The building in the background is the present location of Kaladi Brothers Coffee and Dr. Fraser's office. Evidence of its popularity is in the number of parked cars.
