Field of produce ready for harvest, Anchorage early 1950's

In the vicinity just east of Anchorage and adjacent to the north of Merrill Field at this time were large acerages of produce and pig farms. These farmers had a ready and eager market with the military at Fort Richardson and Elmendorf Air Force base. Seen here is a plot ready for harvest.
