Tractor crossing make shift log bridge during seismograph project, west Cook Inlet early 1960's

Axmen were part of the crew. Many creeks and rivers had to be crossed while doing seismograph work. This picture shows a bridge made of spruce logs, stout enough to allow heavy equipment to pass over.
