Rex Williams holding a tranquilized young caribou, mid 1960's

Photo of biologist Rex Williams with his arms about a young caribou which appears to be tranquilized. Caribou at this time were being reintroduced to the Kenai Peninsula, first into the wetlands near the mouth of the Kenai River, and later near the uplands east of Tustumena Glacier. Lastly, they were reintroduced in an area near the headwaters of Killey River.
