Christmas dinner at the Lancashire's log cabin. Seen are Rusty, Abby, Martha, and Laurie Lancashire. Note the curtains on the windows, the cluttered sinkboard, the wood cook stove, the children seated at a card table on folding chairs with Laurie holding one of her presents. Usually homestead children had a number of presents which arrived by U.S. mail from grandparents or other relatives in the lower forty-eight. No doubt the dining table was occupied by neighbors on this special day. Main fare was often chicken, rabbit, and/ or moose. The home brew supply would have been noticably depleted. Usually games were played, and the conversation was lively.
