Both Mae and Ed Ciechanski were avid gardeners. Vegetables would be of many kinds grown in the northland, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, beets, carrots, etc. The use of the greenhouse gave the plants a jump on spring. Original photo can be seen at the Soldotna Historical Museum.
