The Kenai Peninsula College community is saddened to share that Robin Dahlman, Assistant Professor of Education at KPC, passed away, March 15, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Robin graduated from Northern Arizona University in May 1995 with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education. Robin attended University of Nevada - Las Vegas earning her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction of Teaching Education as a Second Language in 1997. Robin continued her education earning yet another Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University in 2006.
Robin's successful career involved years of teaching in public, private and charter schools. She worked as an Instructional Specialist, Assistant Principal, and Principal of multiple schools spanning several states including Nevada, Hawaii, Colorado, Arizona, as well as on the Kenai Peninsula.
Robin began her career at KPC in August of 2018, bringing to our institution her vast experience as a teacher and principal in K-8 education. She was a natural educator and leader in the college classroom. Robin was always full of energy that she poured into teaching and advising students. She enjoyed coordinating with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and Kenaitze Indian Tribe on various community projects, as well as working on literacy and education initiatives state-wide. She was instrumental in expanding KPC’s educational offerings, collaborating with other campuses, and even serving in a joint appointment with UAS until Fall 2023.
Robin was a beloved professor and colleague who will be greatly missed. Our community mourns this loss but celebrates her life and her generous contributions to all, educating students and sharing her passion to inspire future leaders and teachers like herself.
