An Adventure for Rockhounds with Dr. Taz Tally

a man on a trail holding his hands apart to describe the rock cycle

On Friday, September 18 & 19, join KPC Geology professor Dr. Taz Tally, aka "the Rock Doc" for a journey back through time down Diamond Creek Trail and along the shoreline, as he reveals the forces of nature that have shaped Kachemak Bay and created one of the great rock-hounding beaches.

Friday at 5:30 pm at Kachemak Bay Campus, enjoy a short exploration of the rock cycle, and then meet the instructor at the Diamond Creek Trail and see the rock cycle “in action.” Both days are included in the fee, but attending the lecture is not necessary for students to fully enjoy the field trip. $89. For more information or to register, visit the Community Education portal or call (907) 235-1674.
