Dump truck full of king salmon with Ken McGahan, Kenai 1960's

"Too many fish" said driver Ken McGahan when his truck mired down on the beaches near Kenai with a full load of red salmon he had to unload. These fish are nearly all king salmon. The person on the left is using a pugh to handle fish. This tool seriously gouged the salmon and were later outlawed when the market became more competitive and unmarked salmon brought top price.
